DEEPGATETMDiving Company
Safety is our third-highest priority.
Design, test and pilot experimental submersibles, then run the salvage company that pays for them. Every part has honest numbers, crush depth is real, and every lost boat comes back as an engineering report.

- Windows 10 and 11
- VR Quest 3 on Link
- English only for now
The pitch
A lighthearted deep-ocean engineering simulator where you build experimental submersibles, take them down, and occasionally destroy them catastrophically, while building a company that can reach the deepest places on Earth.

01 / Build it
Bolt it together. Check the numbers. Then get wet.
The vessel dock is where a boat is built part by part: pressure hulls, frames, ballast tanks, thrusters, batteries, sensors and tools, sixty parts in seven families. Every one has honest numbers. Crush depth is real, buoyancy is real, and the battery does not care how close you are to the crate.
Mirror and radial symmetry, undo, subassemblies, and balance markers for mass, buoyancy and thrust. The dock tells you everything before you get wet.
Standard Pressure Hull. "The one the brochure photographs."
Pressure Cylinder. "Cheaper per litre. Worse at being round."
Column Pressure Hull. "Stands on end and falls. Every other hull here swims; this one has stopped arguing."
02 / Take it down
Flood the tank and ride it down.
Fly from the chase camera or the pilot's seat. Unbuckle and walk the cabin, work the controls on their fittings, open the hull cameras, ping the sonar.
In this world the only number that matters is how far down you are. The tape down the side of the screen is the one instrument you have to learn. This page has one too: look left.
- Your marker
- Where the boat is right now.
- CLASS
- The depth the boat is rated for. Below it, the dive is experimental.
- CRUSH
- Where the hull stops being a hull.
- TARGET
- Where the job is. If it sits past CRUSH, the boat is wrong for the job, and no careful flying fixes that.
03 / Past CRUSH
You hear failure before you see it.
A hull that is unhappy creaks, then groans, then stops making any sound at all. Windows crack, cabins take water, and a decisive abort with the steel dropped is always the right call.

Every loss ends in an engineering report naming the part that started it and the depth it went at, so the next boat is a correction rather than a guess. The company commends a decisive abort. Dead pilots file no reports.
04 / Run the company
A salvage outfit, six people, and a board of jobs nobody better-funded wanted.
110 jobs across eighteen lines of work, from tourism and film to cable repair, rescue, mining and records, at working depths from 8 m to the bottom of the deepest trench. Sail the tender between waters on the chart, refit her at the yard, watch the radar and the sound from Mission Control, and keep the books honest. Run it as CAREER, SCIENCE or SANDBOX.
The roster is six people, and it is closed.
Each of the six changes a real number. Crew aboard a vessel that is lost go down with it, and the seat does not refill.
Marta HaleHull fatigue accrues slower.
Ben OkonkwoThe hotel draw is lower.
Rey VasquezMoves ballast faster.
Iris KestrelCertified deeper.
Sam DoylePaid more for a recovery.
Colette RenardHas her own price.
05 / Not only boats
Put a diver over the side.
Five kits, each with its own gas and its own limits:
- Breath-hold
- Scuba, on air
- Wet-lung
- Trimix
- Hard hat
Try FREE DIVE at any site with any boat and nothing at stake, or race the two CHALLENGE courses, Rust Route One and The Long Way Down, against the clock with a boat of your own.
TRAINING walks you through a first dive with the mate, and THE COMPANY MANUAL has the figures for everything else.
06 / The fleet on the cradle
Five hulls, five ideas about pressure.
Built in the dock from the same sixty parts. The hull sets the crush depth; everything bolted around it decides whether you get there and back.

Hull figures from the game's parts catalogue. Windows, frames and everything else bolted on can fail first; the dock tells you which.
07 / Where the work is
From a seagrass lagoon to the Colossus Field.
The waters around the island of Brinn, shallow to deep. The ocean is vibrant and inviting near the top, and black, silent and mildly judgmental near the bottom.

08 / Early Access, honestly
Whole enough for an evening and well beyond. Still being built.
Deepgate is made by one person, and the fastest way to make the ocean better is to hear from the people diving in it. Early Access is planned to run for about a year. Buy once: every Early Access update and the full release are included.
In it now
- The vessel dock and sixty parts
- Piloting, failure and the engineering report
- The company: CAREER, SCIENCE and SANDBOX, 110 jobs
- The chart, passages, the yard, Mission Control
- Divers in five kits, FREE DIVE, two CHALLENGE courses
- TRAINING and THE COMPANY MANUAL
- Photo mode, records, quicksaves and reverts
- Every key rebindable; Xbox-style pads and the DualSense
- A separate VR build for Quest 3 on Link
Being built next
- A smoother dock, closer to how a real yard works
- Equipment that works and animates: arms, lift bags, tools
- New parts from real submersible engineering
- Danger in the cabin: faults mid-dive, fire, inspections
- Diver dangers
- More life, sea and weather
- A black box: replay the dive that went wrong
- Lower graphics settings for smaller cards
- Achievements and cloud saves when the game reaches Steam
Known rough edges
- Tested on one machine (an NVIDIA RTX card); smaller graphics cards are untested
- The first start prepares shaders and can stutter for a minute
- Some models are finished and some are stand-ins, and you will be able to tell which
- Windows may warn that the publisher is unknown: "More info", then "Run anyway"
- Flight sticks and other generic controllers are not supported
Plans follow what players find, so this list is not a promise of specific features. F8 in the game writes a report folder on your own machine; nothing is uploaded.
